Hailing from the Cayman Islands, Kris MCKINNEY-REID is a dynamic storyteller whose work in Film, Theatre, and Television is deeply rooted in a passion for storytelling that unites and impacts people.

Deeply committed to elevating Caribbean narratives, she is driven to bring the richness, complexity, and beauty of west indian & underrepresented stories into the global mainstream.

She views the Arts as powerful tools for societal change—capable of shaping culture and politics—and actively uses her creative voice to help steer society toward its most promising future. Though her heart beats strongest for ACTING, Kris’ versatility spans across producing, directing, and writing, making her a bold multi-hyphenate force in the entertainment industry.

Her voice has resonated on stages including the Minnesota Orchestra Hall and Harvard University, engaging audiences through music-driven storytelling that is both intimate and expansive.

Grounded in both artistry and advocacy, Kris’s work extends beyond performance. A committed activist, her leadership has taken her to Capitol Hill and the White House, where she has championed initiatives rooted in equity, education, and cultural impact.

Her creative foundation was further shaped through mentorship under organizations such as Searchlight Pictures, ICM Partners, and Franklin Entertainment, where she developed as a skilled, industry-savvy creative—strengthening her foundation as a dynamic multi-hyphenate.

Currently, Kris is pursuing her MFA in Acting at Columbia University in the heart of New York City (exp. 2027), where she continues to refine her craft and expand her artistic voice.
